When life feels heavy, exercise can feel like one more thing on the list. So let’s make it gentle. This is a simple 20-minute routine you can do at home, with no equipment, at your own pace. The goal isn’t to punish your body. It’s to feel a little stronger and calmer.
Warm up: 5 minutes
- Walk around your home or march in place
- Roll your shoulders and gently turn your neck side to side
- Take 5 slow breaths, in for four counts and out for six
Move: 10 minutes
Do each one for about 40 seconds, then rest for 20 seconds. Go around twice.
- Wall push-ups or push-ups on your knees
- Sit-to-stand from a chair
- Slow side steps
- Glute bridges on the floor
- Gentle standing knee lifts
Stretch and rest: 5 minutes
- Child’s pose on the floor
- A gentle forward fold, knees soft
- Lie down, one hand on your chest and one on your belly, and breathe
A few kind reminders
- Drink water before and after
- Eat a real meal with some protein during the day
- Stop if anything hurts, and rest when you need to
- If you have a health condition or take medication, talk to your doctor before starting something new
Some days I walk, some days I only stretch. Both count. Consistency beats intensity.
Keep your days small and doable
