A few weeks ago, the company I worked for remotely for six years closed its doors. My income stopped almost overnight.
I’m a mom. That kind of news doesn’t just sit in your bank account. It sits in your chest, especially at 2am.
I cried where no one could see. And then I did the only thing I knew how to do: I got up, I prayed, and I wrote down one small next step.
What I’m learning at the bottom
- Control the next step, not the whole path. The Stoics were right: worry about what’s in your hands today.
- Small steps still count. One application, one prayer, one walk. A little is not nothing.
- Rest is not a reward. A tired mind makes heavy days heavier.
- Tell someone. Carrying it alone makes it heavier than it needs to be.
That’s why I started StoicPrism: a calm, honest place for people rebuilding from nothing. If that’s you right now, I see you. You’re not behind. You’re on a different road, not a wrong one.
With love,
Jyra 💛
